Zoo ‘naked and bound in our loft…’

Posted by charliegrrl on June 10, 2006

Zoo 26th May – 1st June

In this edition (pg. 39), they refer to a fully clothed picture of Jessica Alba:
‘We like hilarious promo shots as much as the next man. But, and call us stupid, we prefer pictures of Jessica Alba in a bikini. Or slowly bending over on a beach. Or, preferably, naked and bound in our loft.

This is a very dodgy thing to say…sounds rather unconsensual…

Also, they have a cut-out questionnaire to fill in with questions such as:
The woman I would most want…

  • to have breast-fed me (are these guys sick or what..?)
  • to pay to have sex with (sounds like promoting prostitution to me…)
  • my girlfriend to look like, via surgery (saddened…)

  1. I wonder what Jessica Alba would have to say about her body being objectified in this way. I find it sickening that the writers of nuts think it’s okay to criticise, objectify and promote violence against women. Because a female celebrity is in the public eye it makes men think their bodies are open to their comment, even more than women who aren’t. They are women too.

  2. Oops, meant to say Zoo magazine, not Nuts magazine (although I also think the writers and readers of Nuts are also sick).

Interesting topic… I’m working in this industry myself and I don’t agree about this in 100%, but I added your page to my bookmarks and hope to see more interesting articles in the future
