This is a link to the incident last year in Sheffield, when a 14 year old girl was photographed topless by Nuts when she was in a club, and her photo published in their magazine.

“We don’t, of course, condone her actions, but this is very much a private matter for the girl and her family.”

Private? Private?? How can they possibly believe it’s a ‘private matter’ when they’re responsible for publicising her picture in a national wankazine?

They’re making it all her fault, the bastards.

  2. “As for the young lady, I think she has learned quite a hard lesson and will think twice before flashing her boobs in the future.”

Yes, she has learnt a “hard lesson” at a very tender age, that women are always to blame.

It’s really the fault of the Nightclub isn’t it?

Surely they shouldn’t be letting in 14 year-old girls.

  4. Sparklematrix- could you elaborate on your point about women being to blame..? I notice you have set up a feminist blog, and I feel your comment could be misinterpreted.

The nightclub are at fault of letting a 14 year old girl into a licensed premises. They are not to blame for the photographing and publishing of a topless photo of a 14 year old girl. If Nuts want to photo topless women, then they should photo ID them if they look under 21. It is not good enough to get her to sign a slip stating she is over 18- this is not a robust policy. There is a world of difference in a 14 year old entering a licensed premises and a 14 year old being photographed topless and the photo being published in a national magazine.

I have to agree with Charliegrrl.

Nightclubs are going to make mistakes when letting people into clubs. You can’t ID everyone, you can’t insist on rigourous ID check, underage people will slip in. The licensing laws understand and are crafted around this, it isn’t a blanket offense to serve alcohol to an under 18 year old.

People shooting porn should be (and are) held to different standards. Shooting child porn is a more serious offense that letting a child buy a drink. We’ve a right to expect a higher level of checks. The nightclubs responsible for drinking, Nuts is responsible for their photoshoots.

I also can’t imagine that Nuts insist on a higher level of checks during their strip in the street shoots than they do in nightclubs.

  6. Sorry i was being very sarcastic!!
This girl has already had her first lesson (at 14yo) in how the patriachy, always manage to turn things around, to blame the female. It was infact a follow on from Witch Woo’s comment..

“They’re making it all her fault, the bastards.”

The “Witch hunts” spring to mind (no ref to Witchy)

    Apologies if i wasn’t clear

well, this thing is a real mess, who is to blame? i dont think blame is the correct word, but who should take responsibility? there are a lot of people to blame, partially the night club, mainly the guys involved, and partially the girl. who should take responsibility? the guys involved should take full responsibility and the night club should take responsibility for letting a minor in, the girl is young but should still take responsibility partially.

  8. The girl is 14 and therefore should not take responsibility so as to absolve responsibility of Nuts.

Nuts should have a rigourous child protection policy to ensure they do not violate the Sexual Offences Act 2003, which states it is illegal to photo and publish sexualised pictures of young people under 18.

i agree, its disgusting what those guys did, i dont mean the girl should take responsibility as such, but personnally she should learn to not put herself in a situation like that, she should take responsibility personally, not publicly, so as to learn from this
