Travelodge Hotel Removes Porn

Posted by charliegrrl on July 27, 2007

The Travelodge Hotel chain has announced that they are removing the pay-for-view porn service on their TV system.

Travelodge chief operating officer Guy Parsons said: “We have an ever increasing number of families staying with us and it’s appropriate that we remove adult TV. Our other customers tell us that they would prefer to use a hotel without adult content available so we have responded to meet their needs.”

It’s great that Travelodge have responded to customer concern, despite acknowledging that they will lose revenue from removing porn from their rooms.

I’ve sent an email congratulating them for making such a move.

    This is very cool indeed!

  2. I applaud travel lodge for taking this move. Of course it’s not only in regards to “families” that I think this should be taking into consideration. The majority of hotel staff that work in direct contact with customers are female. I have read complaints from women where they have been summoned to clients rooms for room service duties where male customers are watching pornographic films. It certainly is complete boundary pushing to expect a woman to go to a unknown males bedroom while he is watching porn.

  3. I’ve also just sent an email congratulating them 🙂

Yup, I just sent them an e-mail and will be e-mailing other major hotel chains to ask “when are you following suit?”

  6. After reaching this site via the Scottish White Ribbon blog, I have added my email to those congratulating the Travelodge Chain
